New Zealand's Maritime Climate
Spawns Excellent Sauvignon Blanc
Grapes and Other Varieties

ew Zealand wineries share a maritime climate whereby the sea tempers the weather to produce cool summers and mild winters when compared to similar latitudes in North America and Europe. The consistently cool nights, even after hot summer days, in the country's wine regions encourage fruit on the vine that nearly always is high in acidity. Moreover, the Marlborough region, tucked in the northeastern corner of New Zealand's South Island, has been hailed by some critics as the most fertile ground in the world for growing Sauvignon Blanc grapes.

The Crossings Estate
In the renowned Marlborough wine region of New Zealand, between the waters of Cloudy Bay and the jagged Kaikoura Mountains, lies the ancient glacial Awatere Valley. In the nineteenth century, early pioneers stopped in this valley at a place where their horses could wade across the Awatere River. They called this point The Crossings.

Kumeu River
Without sound scientific knowledge, winemaking becomes haphazard and risky. Without art, the wines may be technically sound, but often dull and boring to drink. The Brajkovich Family is committed to ensuring that all of our wines are not only properly and correctly produced, but also possessing characters of aroma and flavor that give our customers a great deal of drinking pleasure.
