Many Fine Wines Hail from the
Northern Areas of the Golden State

orthern California's superb environment for growing grapes is renowned worldwide, and the state naturally has cobbled together a rich and vibrant winemaking tradition. O.K. Distributors is pleased to include in its product lineup vintages from these California wineries.

3 Blind Moose
Truth be told, the moose aren’t blind. They just think it’s cool to share good wine with friends, minus the pomp and ceremony. So, if your herd likes fresh, tasty wines that complement a wide range of casual cuisines, introduce them to these unmoostakebly good wines from 3 Blind Moose. No shades required.

337 Wine
Named for the French vine clone, 337 is an alluring expression of a California Cabernet Sauvignon with prestigious Bordeaux roots. The vines are cultivated for structure and flavor in the cobblestones of Lodi’s Clay Station Vineyard, making a wine that exudes seductive aromas of mocha and dark cherry. An explosion of spice and blackberry unwinds to a velvety, luscious finish.

Avalon Winery
Unlike wines from the Culinary Industrial Complex, Avalon wines are original and uncut. Our wines reflect the true essence of Cabernet Sauvignon without pretense, hang-ups or apathy.

Axis Cellars
California’s North Coast has become the reference point, or Axis, for new world winemaking. At Axis Cellars we take advantage of the diversity of top growing regions, including Sonoma County’s celebrated Russian River Valley.

Benessere Vineyards
Benessere is Italian for ‘well-being’ or ‘prosperity,’ and the Benishes named the winery to describe the feeling of life in the Napa Valley. They then restored the older estate winery and vineyards into a modern working winery with 34 planted acres of pristine vineyards and a comfortable estate home.

Blue Jean Winery
Blue Jean is a brand based on the universal comfort Americans have with their jeans. It’s part of Americana to end a tough day and go home and slip into your favorite pair of comfortable jeans. They are a safe haven from the rigors of our busy lives. Blue Jean wine is made with that same philosophy; relaxed and comfortable, yet original in flavor.

Bouchaine Vineyards
Bouchaine Vineyards inhabits the oldest con- tinually operated winery in the Carneros wine region. The site was first planted to vines and orchards in the mid-1800s by pioneer Boon Fly. In 1927, before the end of prohibition, the prop- erty was purchased by Italian immigrant, Johnny Garetto. After the repeal, he operated the first winery with a tasting room in the region.

Burgess Cellars
Burgess traces its origins to an original winery on the property in the 1880’s. Since 1972, Napa Valley pioneer Tom Burgess and his family have followed the belief that it is vital to grow only those varietals ideally suited to a particular vine- yard’s soil composition, sun and wind exposure and overall micro-climate. The French refer to this as “terroir,” and it certainly explains the consis- tent aromas and flavors found in the hillside Burgess Cabernet Sauvignon.

Carpe Diem Wines
Carpe Diem is based on a Burgundian wine- making style and emphasizes the unique flavor quality found in Fire Peak Vineyard’s fruit. Carpe Diem is located in Edna Valley, near San Luis Obispo, California. The region is known for its distinctive topography and climate and was designated as an American Viticultural Area in 1982. With frequent fog and a mild climate, the region has one of the longest growing seasons in California.

Cedar Brook
Cedar Brook Wines are produced predominately for hotels and restaurants throughout the world. Cedar Brook wines are made in an elegant hand- crafted style to complement a wide range of foods. The great chefs whose cuisine accompanies our wines know the importance of creating food and wine combinations that are harmonious and distinctive. Cedar Brook fits this role, which distinguishes it from many other wines.

Cellar No. 8 Wines
The Italian and Swiss agricultural settlement con- tinued to make historic contributions to the growth and development of the commercial wine industry in California in the mid-1940’s, surviving Prohibition and the Great Depression. Today, Asti Winery is still making major contributions to winemaking. The winemaking team has bor- rowed from the region’s heritage to create Cellar No. 8, a series of intense red wines from Cali- fornia’s North Coast appellation. The original Cellar No. 8 is an actual cellar at the Asti Winery where Sbarboro would age his red wine barrels. Today, Cellar No. 8 honors and reflects the tradition of winemaking at Asti.

Chateau St. Jean
Chateau St. Jean is Sonoma’s first and foremost champion of single vineyard designated wines, founded around a concept cherished for centuries in Europe but new to California — terroir (pro- nounced “ter wahr”). This French word has no direct translation in English. Nevertheless, it speaks volumes about how each vineyard’s unique combination of climate, soil and growing conditions determine a grape’s flavor and in- tensity. To achieve Chateau St. Jean single vineyard designation, the grapes must consis- tently exhibit exceptional varietal character. The superior quality of the vineyards must be proven, vintage after vintage.

Clos Pegase
What defines the “Clos Pegase” style? We like to talk about balance, harmony and symmetry. About true varietal intensity with balanced tannins and acids. And, most of all, about the balance of sophisticated elegance and inviting food-friendliness.

Conn Creek Winery
Since 1973, we’ve been making some of Cali- fornia’s fines Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux-style wines. Nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, Conn Creek winery has earned top scores by crafting a focused portfolio of select Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and continues with each new vintage.

Douglass Hill Winery

Ferrari-Carano Vineyards & Winery
With Ferrari-Carano’s 19 estate vineyards in four appellations totaling over 1,400 acres, it became apparent to Don Carano that in order to maintain Ferrari-Carano’s consistent quality and produce world-acclaimed wines that Ferrari-Carano has become known for, two separate winemaking locations were needed—one concentrating on white wines and the other on red wines. This decision stemmed from Don’s winemaking philosophy of having a dedicated winemaking team that is passionate about attention to detail and producing the best wines possible.

Firehose
In my house, it’s that rare meal that isn’t spiced up with hot sauce or chopped up chili peppers, and wine is always on the table. The trouble is that spicy food doesn’t always pair easily with wine. Firehose was born with this sole mis- sion—to refresh and stimulate the palate, and put out the fire of the spiciest meals. The “hot” Firehose label was designed by an incredibly talented graphic design student at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Larry Luk. — Chief Chef Charles Bieler.

Fisher Vineyards
Our mission is to grow and produce wines of consistent, world-class quality that express their unique mountain or valley heritage in the truest sense of terroir; the resulting wines should pay tribute to the land we are fortunate to care for, as well as each member of our team, which together will yield a classic balance and style that transcend time.

Folie a Deux Winery
Folie a Deux is a French term meaning “shared fantasies.” The winery was conceived by two close friends who turned their passion for wine and their mutual dream of owning a winery into a reality in 1981. The distinctive twin dancers logo so closely associated with the winery was de- signed by a local artist to evoke that notion of a delightful shared experience. Sharing in the joy of wine is something which the many visitors and fans of Folie a Deux wines have come to appre- ciate deeply.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery
Winemaking has been a part of the Coppola family for several generations. In fact, Francis Ford Coppola’s grandfather, Agostino, used to make wine in his New York basement in concrete fermenters he built himself. According to Uncle Mikey, they weren’t fancy wines, just everyday drinking wines. The wines that Francis makes today aren’t the same as those Agostino made, but they are produced in the same spirit—for sharing with family and friends.

Freemark Abbey
It began over a quarter of a century ago as a vision shared by a handful of pioneers; those with an intimate knowledge of grapes and a deep respect for the land. This vision took root, was nurtured by skilled hands and ultimately resulted in one of the first premium wineries in the Napa Valley. Today, the wine of Freemark Abbey stands as a testament to what the rich earth of the Napa Valley is capable of creating when working in perfect harmony with nature.

Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery
Gary Farrell Winery is a special place. Perched atop a hillside overlooking the serene and enigmatic Russian River Valley, the winery is a tribute to Gary’s winemaking vision—with a striking pristine character that aptly reflects a craftsman’s ruthless attention to detail.

Geyser Peak Winery
Geyser Peak Winery’s roots in Sonoma County winemaking run deep. Founded in 1880 by Augustus Quitzow, one of Sonoma County’s pioneer winemakers, the original winery was built in Geyserville in 1882. Perched on a hillside across from Geyser Peak Mountain, the winery claimed a view of the clouds of thermal steam that bil- lowed from the mountain’s summit.

Girard Winery
Thirty years after planting their first vineyard, Girard continues a fine tradition of producing award winning wines. Highlighting the flavors of Napa Valley and Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, Girard has gained critical acclaim for excellent wines and great values. The winery is nestled near the top of Prichard Hill, which is arguably the best area in Napa valley for Cabernet Sauvignon.

Gloria Ferrer Winery
Building a California winery was the fulfillment of a longtime dream for Jose Ferrer, whose family had been winegrowers in Spain since the 1500’s. Gloria, Jose and their two sons, Pedro and Jose Maria, were deeply committed to running Gloria Ferrer as a family business, and equally deter- mined that every bottle of wine made in their new sparkling wine house reflect its authentic California terroir. As a result, they imported only three winemaking techniques from Freixenet: their commitment to handpicking the grapes, carrying the grapes to the winery in small bins and gently pressing the fruit.

Greg Norman California Estates
The foundation for my California wines was established many years ago. I am very fortunate to take something that I am passionate about, both a business and personal interest, and expand it to a geographic area that I have grown so very fond of. My California line consists of five wines from distinctive, top-quality appellations that deliver a unique expression of its place of origin.

Guenoc Wines
While Langtry Estate & Vineyards has a long and colorful history, the winery itself is the picture of modern technology. Designed with a focus on quality at every turn, Langtry boasts a state-of-the-art crush pad and a twin Diemme press and two Wilmes tank presses that ensure gentle handling of the grapes, while fermentation temperatures are carefully monitored. Innovation is evident throughout the winery, manifested in winemaking practices small and large. They add up to a winemaking operation incredibly focused on detail and that strives to showcase the high quality grapes from the Langtry vineyards.

Irony Wines
Most of us didn’t imagine where we would be right now. Sure, we dreamed of being firemen, astronauts, rock stars, and superheroes, but life often takes you where you didn’t expect it to. My brother and I worked every harvest from the time we could ride our bikes. After college, our careers took up beyond the land our grandfather planted in 1924. Ironically, today we are more fulfilled, working side-by-side at the family vineyard & winery. We didn’t plan it or expect it, but we are enjoying this strange twist in our lives. That’s Irony—a bottle full of life’s strange twists and a celebration of our family’s life-long commitment to producing the finest quality wines.

Kendall Jackson Vineyard Estates

The result of these beneficial growing conditions is distinct, concentrated flavors in our wine.

La Crema Wines

Ménage a Trois
The exotic, flowery and silky White Blend ex- plores the promising relationship between Moscato, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. The Red Blend, with its rich, fruit-forward profile, shows what happens when you introduce Zinfandel to Merlot and Cabernet. Rounding out the trio (because there just has to be three) is the Rosé Blend. There’s no pretension and no pretense in this blend of Merlot, Syrah and Gewurztraminer – just a fruit-laden roller coaster ride. These three wines are the result of bottling some passion, fun and a little excitement – all without breaking the bank.

Merryvale Vineyards
The first winery built in the Napa Valley following the repeal of Prohibition, Merryvale is located in the heart of America’s premier wine region. Together, the coach and Mendocino Wine Company’s winemaking team created five unique, high quality wines.

Montevina Wines
In 1970, Montevina became the first new, post-Prohibition winery in the Sierra foothills. Located in the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County, its first wines were release in 1973 and it thereafter became the foothill’s flagship vintner, renowned for robust, full-flavored red wines, especially Zinfandel and Barbera. Indeed, Montevina’s success inspired a revival of the historic foothill wine industry, attracting a new generation of vintners to the region’s rolling, sun-baked hillsides.

It’s a tradition based on shared appreciation of friend- ship, hard work, a wicked sense of humor and, of course, a good bottle of wine.

Napa Cellars
What does Napa stand for? For some, it conjures up images of five-star resorts and world re- nowned restaurants, but everyone agrees Napa Valley represents the pinnacle of great wines; one of the world’s great wine capitals. Napa Cellars embodies the classic Napa Valley style – ripe, rich, balanced and collectible. Most importantly, the wines of Napa Cellars taste of the depth of this great wine region as much as the grapes them- selves. In the valley’s warm days and cool nights, our vineyards produce five primary varieties for which Napa Valley has become famous. Try one of our classic wines, and we hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed making them.

Newman’s Own
They may be the perfect wine to go with chips and Newman’s Own salsa or with pasta and Newman’s Own sauce. Paul Newman’s company, which has donated all profits for educational and charitable purposes through Newman’s Own Foundation for the past 25 years, has added wines to its list of products.

Today, Hugh Davies, winemaker and general manager of Schramsberg, is devoted to carrying on his parents’ vision: to create America’s premier sparkling wines. The resulting refinements to our original vision are evident each year in our new releases. We invite you to share in this American tradition by enjoying our proudly crafted sparkling wines.

Sketchbook
Mendocino is the home of towering redwoods and craggy bluffs overlooking the rugged Pacific coast. Here too are the free-thinking inhabitants, sons of Italian immigrants, artists, sea-farers and back-to-nature types who, in the 1970’s, migrated to this magical place.

Sonoma Coast Vineyards
Sonoma Coast Vineyards produces handcrafted wines from the Extreme Sonoma Coast, a unique cold-climate growing area west of the Russian River Valley, a mere five miles from the Pacific Ocean, on the far western reaches of the Sonoma Coast Appellation. The potential for this region to produce wines of exceptional depth and com- plexity inspired founders John and Barbara Drady to join forces with acclaimed winemaker Anthony Austin and introduce their first vintage in 2002. Low yields of mature fruit with high levels of natural acidity, intense flavors and remarkable complexity result from the long, cool growing season, where harvests may extend into early November.

Spellbound Wines
Spellbound was born of Rob Mondavi Jr.’s desire to craft every day approachable wines from California that are relaxed enough to enjoy every day, yet special enough to celebrate milestone events. Winemaker Rob Mondavi Jr. and partners, wife Lydia Mondavi, Patti McKiernan and Geoff Whitman, honor California’s heritage through Spellbound’s focus on one of the first varietals grown in the state, Petite Sirah. In 2009 Spellbound launched an outstanding Petite Sirah Reserve from Napa Valley, reinforcing the label’s commitment to this growing varietal.

Spot On Cellars
Spot On Cellars is a small Sonoma-based winery that creates small lots of vineyard-designate wines from vineyards located in Mendocino, Napa and Sonoma counties in northern California. Our wines are hand-crafted to be an accurate re- flection of a particular grape varietal and the vineyard as well as terroir in which it was grown. It’s our belief that if you find the right spot for growing the right grapes, winemaking becomes a simple process of shepherding the grapes to the bottle. Hence the name “Spot On”.

Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars
Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is a private Napa Valley estate that has been owned by my family since we established the winery in 1972 in what is now known as the Stags Leap District. We are best known for our three estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignons, CASK 23, S.L.V. and FAY, which are among the most highly regarded Cabernets in the world. We use the “Golden Rectangle” approach to winemaking, balancing opposing elements to create wines that are both dynamic and har- monious, and embody the classical ideals that define the world’s greatest wines.

Sutter Home Winery
The history of Sutter Home Winery dates back to the late 1800s, when a Swiss-German immigrant named John Thomann established a small winery and distillery in the heart of California's Napa Valley. Although much has changed for the Trincheros and Sutter Home, the motto and philosophy originated by their father more than a half-century ago remains the same: "A great pro- duct for a fair price."

Three Thieves
On a mission to bring the joy of wine to the masses, the Three Thieves set out to explore the marine-influenced growing region where the Sacramento River meets the San Francisco Bay. There they discovered a secret vineyard called Circle K Ranch in the Clarksburg district near Lodi, rumored by old-timers to produce great Pinot Noir.

Trinchero Napa Valley
In 1948, our father, Mario Trinchero, brought us from New York City to the small town of St. Helena in California's Napa Valley to begin our new lives as vintners at a winery called Sutter Home. In 1998, to celebrate our 50th anniversary in Napa Valley, and to honor our father's mem- ory, we introduced a new, ultra-premium Napa Valley brand called Trinchero.

Woodbridge Winery
Cesare Mondavi was among the immigrants who settled in Lodi during Prohibition in the 1920s. He brought his wife and four children to Cali- fornia to start a business shipping wine grapes to Italian-American families back on the East Coast. Cesare's son, Robert Mondavi, grew up in Lodi. Years later, after he established his famous Napa Valley winery, Robert returned to Lodi with one simple mission: to make delicious, affordable wines that families could share each night around the dinner table. And in 1979, Woodbridge Winery was born.

XYZin Wines
XYZin is a premium Zinfandel producer that explores the effects of vine age on the structure and style of Zinfandel wines. Each of our three wines is an expression of the time and place the vines were planted, and they come from Zinfanel vines at least 10, 50 or 100 years of age at the time of harvest. We believe the age of a vine is as much a part of a wine's makeup as climate, soil and clone selection, and each wine reflects the physi- cal age of its vine, as well as the techniques and traditions of generations of farmers.
